BRITNEY ON HER HELL OF A YEAR

Britney Spears says it has been a ”hell of a year” for her.

The 26-year-old singer - who is set to release her new album “Circus” tomorrow (Dec 2, 2008) - admits she has struggled to get her life back on track since her public breakdown earlier this year, but is pleased her fans have stuck by her.

She said: “The whole year has been a hell of a year for me. I have been working so hard on my album, but I didn’t know exactly where I stood with everyone.”

“When I received my MTV Video Music Awards and the audience stood for me, it showed me how much love is out there. Recording this album has helped take my mind off certain things. For me, my music is therapy.”

Britney, who also celebrates her 27th birthday tomorrow, revealed she now prefers staying in with her two sons - Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - rather than going out partying.

She told America’s Glamour magazine: “I don’t like going out. I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people.”

“I love my home and staying in bed and watching ‘Dancing With The Stars’ or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I’m kind of boring.”

Britney also revealed her New Year’s resolution, adding: “I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time.”

“And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously. And to stop biting my nails!”

Amy Winehouse 'Stuns' Louis Walsh With Classy Gift

Amy Winehouse shocked Irish music mogul and X Factor judge Louis Walsh - by sending him a green tie and shamrock cuff links.

The Rehab hitmaker, 25, gave Louis the gift - from highbrow London department Selfridges - to say thank you for looking after her goddaughter Dionne, who visited the ITV1 show's Wembley studios.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "It came nicely wrapped up. Best of all was the handwritten note.

Mark Ronson to Produce Elton John's New Album

Mark Ronson is set to work with pop royalty - by producing Elton John's next album, according to reports.

The super-producer - who has previously worked with Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera - will work alongside John, 61, on what will be his 30th album, Fox News reports.

The record will appear on the Universal/Republic label run by Universal Music's Monte Lippman and the pair will reportedly begin working in the studio in the new year.

Meanwhile, Ronson, 31, has once again teamed up with Winehouse.

Tina Fey: My Career Took Off After Losing 30 Pounds

Tina Fey opens up about dropping 30 pounds for Saturday Night Live, her facial scar and remaining a virgin until her 20s in the January issue of Vanity Fair.

LOSING WEIGHT

Fey, 38, says her career took off after she dropped 30 pounds with Weight Watchers.

“I’m five-foot-four-and-a-half, and I think I was maxing out at just short of 150 pounds, which isn’t so big. But when you move to New York from Chicago, you feel really big,” says the 30 Rock star - who started working in comedy in the Windy City.

Adds Fey’s husband, Jeff Richmond (who composes the music for his wife’s award-winning sitcom): “She was quite round in a lovely, turn-of-the-century kind of round - that beautiful, Rubenesque kind of beauty.”

Fey says she knew she had to drop the weight after catching a glimpse of herself in an SNL monitor as an extra.

“I was like, ‘Ooogh.’ I was starting to look unhealthy,” she says. “I looked like a behemoth, a little bit. It was probably a bad sweater or something. [Or] maybe cutting from Gwyneth Paltrow to me.”

She called her husband that day and announced: “OK, I’m starting Weight Watchers.”

The diet worked - too well. As Fey’s star was on the rise - she took over as “Weekend Update” anchor and became the show’s head writer - the cast grew worried about her becoming too slim.

“I got to that thing that’s so enjoyable where people tell you, ‘Oh, you’re thin, you’ve gotten too thin,’” Fey says. “[SNL creator Lorne Michaels] was like, ‘Please, please make sure you’re eating.’”

Now the actress has found a happy medium, but still watches her weight.

“The most I’ve changed pictures out of vanity was to edit around any shot where you can see my butt,” she says. “I like to look goofy, but I also don’t want to get canceled because of my big old butt.”

The star - who blames her curves on the “Greek-girl thing, I have, like, boobs and butt” draws the line at cosmetic surgery though.

“I don’t have botox or anything,” she says.

HER FACIAL SCAR

Fey opens up about the faint scar that runs along her left cheek, which was the result of a cutting attack by a stranger when she was five years old.

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” her husband says.

Adds Fey, who rarely speaks about the incident: “It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it.”

Growing up, Fey didn’t feel self-conscious, “because I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of ‘Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever. Everybody’s got a better side,” she says.

How has the attack affected her as a mother to three-year-old daughter Alice?

“Supposedly, I will go crazy,” says. “My therapist says, ‘When Alice is the age that you were, you may go crazy.”‘

REMAINING A VIRGIN

Fey also admits that she wasn’t very popular growing up.

“I really didn’t have very many dates at all. And that’s not an exaggeration. But also, I don’t think we should discount the fact that unplucked eyebrows and short hair with a perm may not have been the best
offering, either.”

In fact, “I remember bringing people over in high school to play—that’s how cool I am—that game Celebrity. That’s how I successfully remained a virgin well into my 20s, bringing gay boys over to play Celebrity.”

SARAH PALIN IMPERSONATIONS

Fey also responds to the criticism that she was too hard on Sarah Palin with her impersonations.

“What made me super-mad about it, was that it seemed very sexist toward me and her,” she says. “The implication was that she’s so fragile, which she is not. She’s a strong woman.

“And then, also, it was sexist because, like, who would ever go [and say], ‘Well, I thought it was sort of mean to Richard Nixon when Dan Aykroyd played him,’ and ‘That seemed awful mean to George Bush when Will Ferrell did it.’”

Who would have thought Chris Brown was in such high demand????

Well, it turns out Chris is the most viewed singer on in-demand television.

Music Choice, one of television's on-demand services, announced today that Brown was the most requested artist in a one year period.

His fans ordered millions of free plays to view his music videos and interviews.

In fact, fans ordered Brown over 43 million times.

Music Choice even honored Chris with its first "Most Demanded" award.

Also close were the Jonas Brothers and Lil' Wayne who also brought in millions of downloads.

And, according to network executive Damon Williams, teenage girls were the ones primarily responsible for Brown's downloads.

Somehow, we doubt he'll be this popular the same time next year.

Naima Mora Working at Brooklyns Cocoa Bar?

I’ve seen this rumor around the Twitterverse a few times and now New York Magazine has picked it up. Apparently America’s Next Top Model Cycle 4 winner Naime Mora is working at Brooklyn’s Cocoa Bar, a cafe and sweets shop.

Several Brooklynites have seen her behind the counter, but when New York Magazine called and asked, they refused to disclose information about their employees.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true. Naima, while I love her, hasn’t had the greatest modeling career. This gig gives her a steady income while giving her the flexibility she needs to pursue her modeling and music careers.

AH, THE PANT SUIT!

In a blinding white satin suit, Natasha Bedingfield made a starting entrance on the red carpet on the 2008 American Music Awards on Nov 23 in Los Angeles. Making a stab at the female suit trend, Im so jolted by the clown-like make-up, ill fitting suit, pale cleavage and red strappy heels that Im not quite sure what to make of this. One thing is certain: its officially time to hire a stylist for red carpet appearances! If you like the professional vibe, try a more feminine approach with Laura Dahls Marshall Cropped Jacket in White with a tucked in tank and Shumaqs Linen Pencil Skirt in White, and add a statement-making necklace like Rock Paper Scissors Peacock Necklace in Gold. Nats oversized, plain pendant necklace throws me off just as much as the rest of the fit, but Im wondering if she was trying to match the red lips and heels with the crimson frock she wore for her performance later in the night. Its the only explanation I can think of! Natasha has been keeping herself busy with the New Kids on the Block tour, but while traveling on the bus Nat has made it a priority to visit as many schools as possible to inspire the kids to express themselves through music. Lucky kids in a few cities got to come on board the Lennon bus, fully equipped with a recording studio and writing space for Natasha. On a recent trip back to the UK, Nat raved to a British mag about her passion for penmanship: Song writing is what I love doing the most out of anything I do and its very creative and I love just sitting in a room and just starting to jam. I just start humming and the songs just end up coming out! If Unwritten was just the beginning, I cant wait to see what this budding songstress has in store for us in the future!...
