MICHAEL Gelman, the famous producer - and sometime on-air personality - of “Live With Regis and Kelly,” must have been glad to get back to work yesterday after a “flight from hell.” Gelman, his wife, Laurie, and their kids were on JetBlue from Ft. Lauderdale to New York. “First we were delayed for several hours due to bad weather,” our onboard spy said. “Then we had an incredibly bumpy and tumultuous ride because we kept getting stuck in other jets’ tailwinds.” The turbulence sickened some passengers - “like four people in Gelman’s row got sick, causing others to throw up. Not a lot of seats had barf bags, so they started doing it in their Terra Chips bags.” When the plane finally reached New York, it had to circle several times before landing, and customers were stuck onboard for another 30 minutes waiting for a gate. A rep for Gelman said, “He did not see anyone” barf.

I normally don't review samples, especially skin care products since you don't always get immediate results. However, I thought this kit was fantastic! I absolutely loved the Gentle Purifying Cleansing Milk and Gentle Plant Purifying Masque. The Cleansing Milk was very soothing. It made my face feel well hydrated and soft. The Purifying Masque is one of the best masques I ever tried! It is so lightweight that there were times that I almost forgot that I had it on. It was'nt hard to take off unlike some I've used in the past. The masque I used prior to using this one was a job to take off. The only thing I had an issue with was the Rosebay Willowherb Cream. I had to stop using it since it caused me to break out a little. I'm not saying that it was a bad product, but I have very sensitive skin and I'm very careful about what I use on my face. Other than that, I enjoyed using the kit.

Tina Fey opens up about dropping 30 pounds for Saturday Night Live, her facial scar and remaining a virgin until her 20s in the January issue of Vanity Fair.

LOSING WEIGHT

Fey, 38, says her career took off after she dropped 30 pounds with Weight Watchers.

“I’m five-foot-four-and-a-half, and I think I was maxing out at just short of 150 pounds, which isn’t so big. But when you move to New York from Chicago, you feel really big,” says the 30 Rock star - who started working in comedy in the Windy City.

Adds Fey’s husband, Jeff Richmond (who composes the music for his wife’s award-winning sitcom): “She was quite round in a lovely, turn-of-the-century kind of round - that beautiful, Rubenesque kind of beauty.”

Fey says she knew she had to drop the weight after catching a glimpse of herself in an SNL monitor as an extra.

“I was like, ‘Ooogh.’ I was starting to look unhealthy,” she says. “I looked like a behemoth, a little bit. It was probably a bad sweater or something. [Or] maybe cutting from Gwyneth Paltrow to me.”

She called her husband that day and announced: “OK, I’m starting Weight Watchers.”

The diet worked - too well. As Fey’s star was on the rise - she took over as “Weekend Update” anchor and became the show’s head writer - the cast grew worried about her becoming too slim.

“I got to that thing that’s so enjoyable where people tell you, ‘Oh, you’re thin, you’ve gotten too thin,’” Fey says. “[SNL creator Lorne Michaels] was like, ‘Please, please make sure you’re eating.’”

Now the actress has found a happy medium, but still watches her weight.

“The most I’ve changed pictures out of vanity was to edit around any shot where you can see my butt,” she says. “I like to look goofy, but I also don’t want to get canceled because of my big old butt.”

The star - who blames her curves on the “Greek-girl thing, I have, like, boobs and butt” draws the line at cosmetic surgery though.

“I don’t have botox or anything,” she says.

HER FACIAL SCAR

Fey opens up about the faint scar that runs along her left cheek, which was the result of a cutting attack by a stranger when she was five years old.

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” her husband says.

Adds Fey, who rarely speaks about the incident: “It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it.”

Growing up, Fey didn’t feel self-conscious, “because I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of ‘Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever. Everybody’s got a better side,” she says.

How has the attack affected her as a mother to three-year-old daughter Alice?

“Supposedly, I will go crazy,” says. “My therapist says, ‘When Alice is the age that you were, you may go crazy.”‘

REMAINING A VIRGIN

Fey also admits that she wasn’t very popular growing up.

“I really didn’t have very many dates at all. And that’s not an exaggeration. But also, I don’t think we should discount the fact that unplucked eyebrows and short hair with a perm may not have been the best
offering, either.”

In fact, “I remember bringing people over in high school to play—that’s how cool I am—that game Celebrity. That’s how I successfully remained a virgin well into my 20s, bringing gay boys over to play Celebrity.”

SARAH PALIN IMPERSONATIONS

Fey also responds to the criticism that she was too hard on Sarah Palin with her impersonations.

“What made me super-mad about it, was that it seemed very sexist toward me and her,” she says. “The implication was that she’s so fragile, which she is not. She’s a strong woman.

“And then, also, it was sexist because, like, who would ever go [and say], ‘Well, I thought it was sort of mean to Richard Nixon when Dan Aykroyd played him,’ and ‘That seemed awful mean to George Bush when Will Ferrell did it.’”

Are you unhappy with the appearance of your face? Do you have scars, problems with acne, or is your face starting to show the early signs of aging? If so, you may be curious as to what all of your options are. Despite the fact that you do have a number of different treatment options, many men and women in your shoes opt for cosmetic surgery.

So, should you get a cosmetic surgery facelift? Of course, there are a number of factors that you will want to take into consideration when determining so. There are, however, signs that you will want to look for. If these signs, five of which are outlined below, apply to you, a cosmetic surgery facelift may be in your best interest.

1 – You Are Getting Older

It is no secret that our skin changes as we age. Unfortunately, these changes aren’t always pleasant and attractive. Throughout the course of your life you may have developed small scars on your face. These can be taken care of with cosmetic surgery. Although there are a number of reasons why you could undergo a cosmetic surgery facelift, wrinkle treatment is the most common. It is important to remember that just because you are getting older in age; it doesn’t mean that you have to look like it!

2 – You Are Embarrassed

Are you embarrassed by the way that you look? Although every single individual is beautiful in their own way, that may not help to change the way that you feel. Those who undergo cosmetic surgery facelifts often have the sole goal of improving their appearance. Whether you are depressed with the signs of aging, if your face is saggy-like after a large weight loss, or if you just want a change, a cosmetic surgery facelift may be an option for you to seriously consider.

3 – You Have Already Examined Your Other Options

As nice as it is to improve your appearance by undergoing a cosmetic surgery facelift, it is important to know that you do have other options. For example, scars or marks that resemble stretch marks can also be removed with laser surgery, as opposed to actually going under the knife. There are also a large number of over-the-counter products that are designed to help reduce wrinkles and slow down the signs of aging. Although surgery does produce quicker results, especially when compared to over-the-counter products, cosmetic surgery does cost more money.

4 – You Have Had Bad Reactions to Over-the-Counter Products

As it was previously stated, there are alternatives to cosmetic surgery facelifts. One of those alternatives is over-the-counter skincare products. There are products that are designed for scars, acne, and wrinkles. Another sign that a surgical facelift may be in your best interest if you have tried a few of these over-the-counter products without success. In fact, have you had bad reactions to these products? Some consumers end up with even more skin problems, namely a bad case of skin irritation.

5 – You Want Results and You Want Them Now

Of course, when you undergo a surgical facelift, it is important to remember that you do need time to recover. Both your body and your skin in particular will need to rest. When that rest and recovery time has ended, you should be able to see immediate results. Laser surgery often takes multiple sessions and over-the-counter skincare products need to be used for months before results are seen. So, if you want to improve the appearance of your face and see results right now, a surgical cosmetic facelift should be examined.

The five above mentioned signs are just a few of the many signs that a cosmetic surgery facelift may be in your best interest. As a reminder, there are dangers that are associated with surgical facelifts, including pain and discomfort. Even with the possibility of painful side effects, many men and women, just like you, find that the pros outweigh the cons.

I never realized just how adorable Amanda Peet's baby girl is. The 36-year-old actress' daughter looks just like her - and that's not a bad thing!

Here's the two in a Beverly Hills park. Who's cuter: Frances Pen or Brangelina's Shiloh?

We’ve all seen bad photoshop work. If we’re to believe the upcoming January issue of Vogue Nippon, they’re missing Desktop Publishers. The layout of their new cover is somewhat … unprofessional.

Daria’s face is covered by a big, black G. Literally! I hardly believe they thought we wouldn’t understand it’s Vogue if the G was behind Daria’s head. Maybe it’s just a case of bad layering from a desktop publisher who’s clearly not a Werbowy fan. Just when I was beginning to like Vogue Nippon, they’re losing that special something. It’s just me, or have you got the same feeling here? (photo via tfs)

The Pulp Fiction Party was last Friday at Ramayana Cafe in Bucharest and we had a lot of fun! You can see that me and Roxana were totally in character, playing the bad ass chicks we actually are (*wink). Big ‘thank you’ to Catalin Olteanu for the photographs [more photos here], and don’t miss the next event at Ramayana. Will keep you posted on all the fun events they organize. Hopefully I’ll be able to be there as often as possible.

Also, can’t wait to have the first Romanian Fashion Bloggers meeting there. If you are one (a Romanian fashion blogger I mean) be part of our community, so we can make fun things happen. Right now we are deciding on the logo and the banner, here. So, let us know what you think!

After a very fun weekend, guess what’s coming? A super busy week with a whole lot of work to do.

PS: Today was the Romanian National Day: ‘happy birthday’ to our lovely country!

The NYP reports that the Project Runway winner Christian Siriano “has cut a deal with Payless ShoeSource to distribute a line of low-price shoes and handbags at the discount footwear chain next fall. Siriano’s Payless line, which will debut at New York Fashion Week in February, will be sold at about 400 - or about one-tenth - of Payless stores across the US, Payless CEO LuAnn Via said.”

“I want everybody to have a piece of my brand,” Siriano said on the prospect of being seen as selling out so early in his career.

Times are rough indeed, cheap is the right way to go nowadays. Go mass and then build your way up is not a bad choice at all, the masses is what brings your name into households. I hope this collection will be a good one, I’ll keep my eyes peeled at New York Fashion Week in February.
