The singer's assault trial, scheduled to commence on Monday, in Fishkill Town Justice Court, has been postponed ’til December 17th.
The trial comes as a result of a guilty plea to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, which occurred during a June 2007 concert when Akon threw a 15-year-old fan from the stage.
At the later court date, it will be determined whether or not the case can be taken care of without a trial.
And just like us, they get stuck in holiday airport traffic, waiting around for hours while drinking at overpriced airport restaurants!
Spies at the Dallas airport caught a trio of Gossip Girl cast members - Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, and Jessica Szohr - waiting for their flights this holiday weekend.
The stars were in Texas for Thanksgiving with Chace's family.
After Chace-Gayface-Crawford departed on an earlier flight, Ed and Jessica were caught smooching!!!!!
A spywitness says, it was "Not a French kiss, but a smooch definitely. They were being very flirty when people were not paying attention."
At least when they thought no one was paying attention!
Sean Penn wanted more out of the Milk script than just a possible Oscar and a kiss from co-star James Franco.
In a new interview with Elle, Franco reveals that he was surprised by a revised version of the script sent to him a month after Van Sant asked him to be in the film.
While the original script featured only one kissing scene, the new script contained a full-on love scene.
When Franco asked Van Sant about it, the director replied, "Well, it was Sean's idea."
Our lame duck president, George W. Bush, sat down with ABC's Charlie Gibson Monday and showed that he doesn't totally have his head up his ass.
W on Iraq:
"I think I was unprepared for war. In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack. In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents — one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen." He also says that the use of incorrect intelligence for warmongering, i.e. that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, is the "biggest regret of all the presidency."
W on the economy and government bail out:
"I'm sorry it's happening, of course. Obviously I don't like the idea of people losing jobs, or being worried about their 401(k)s. On the other hand, the American people got to know that we will safeguard the system. I mean, we're in. And if we need to be in more, we will."
And, acknowledging that he effed things up for the Republicans:
"And I'm sure some people voted for Barack Obama because of me. I think most people voted for Barack Obama because they decided they wanted him to be in their living room for the next four years explaining policy."
J.K. Rowling wants some extra millions to add to her already multimillion bank account!
The creator of the Harry Potter books will now be introducing a new collection for tweens to become obsessed over.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a book of five Potter-related fairy tales that are written NS illustrated by Rowling.
In the last Potter book, the Beedle the Bard book is given to Hermoine by Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore. Just another reason for Potter fans to buy it!
The book's first printing is set at 3.5 million copies. The last HP book, Deathly Hallows, had a first printing of 12 million. But with the success of HP and Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, there are good estimates that Beedle will be a big seller. DUH!
Unfortunately, as with the Potter books, no review copies have been made available to the critics so there's no indication if the book will suck.
Advance sales of the book are going for a discounted $12.99. Though Amazon already has 100,000 copies being published as part of a $100 collector's edition.
The book consists of stories that wizard parents tell their children. The stories even hold clues that help Harry destroy Voldemort.
A rep from Rowling's publishers says, "They feel like folk tales or fairy tales that have been around forever. They're as good as any Grimm tale that you might have read in your own childhood. But that's just Rowling's incredible skill."
Eager Potter fans will get their hands on this book when it goes on sale this Thursday. The book will even be published in 38 languages.
