Siena fan night at NEFJ

Siena Athletics and Northeastern Fine Jewelry are teaming up to host a holiday party for Siena fans at its Albany store, 1575 Western Avenue, on Wednesday, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Fans can meet Siena men’s basketball head coach Fran McCaffery and Siena women’s basketball head coach Gina Castelli and receive special pricing. Northeastern Fine Jewelry will donate a portion of proceeds from the evening to Siena Athletics.

An icy engagement

The proposal on ice is back at The Rink at Rockefeller Center.

Engagement on Ice allows prospective grooms to plan their wedding proposals on the ice at Rockefeller Center, giving them the rink to themselves with their sweetheart. It runs through April 2009 when The Rink closes for the season.

The Engagement on Ice package offers front-of-the-line access ensuring the couple can head straight onto the ice for a romantic spin around the Rink. As the session ends, the other skaters leave so the couple is alone on the ice. ‘Their song’’ will play, setting the scene for the proposal. (more…)

Midget-seeker, homeless mermaid and a “thick” woman

I rarely check out the CLMCs anymore, other than when I’m looking for story fodder. And today, well, I went looking. Here are some interesting MCs.

• This man is looking for the midget he saw in Toys ‘R Us. He apologizes for using that term, and opts for “little person” is his headline. He then goes on to give his missed “match” little information about himself, other than his age.
• Groping strangers is apparently A-OK, especially if you’re in Wal-Mart on Black Friday.
• Another man is looking for a woman who is “a little thick” on the bottom half. On the plus side, clearly this man has never been married. On the other hand, he’s probably never had a girlfriend, either, and there (more…)
