On the eve of her nephew’s birth, Jessica Simpson had a girls’ night out on Nov 17 at Katsuya in West Hollywood, dining with a few gal pals and enjoying some tasty sashimi. Showing off a painfully plumped up pucker and an ostentatiously large bag (if you like the oversized shape, try Antoinette Lee’s Stella Bag in Black), it’s a bit surprising to see Jess covering up her voluptuous assets with a navy double breasted blazer (nab the professional look with a wintery twist with Amberlynn’s Victoria Coat in Plum) as she made her way back to her car after din-din. The black leggings are getting a little cliché (do something slightly different with Laura Dahl’s scrunched Longfellows Leggings in Noir with stirrup legs), but I love her spider-webby heels and black pendant earrings (check out Robyn Rhodes’ classy Lani Earrings in Gold) – adding just the right accents to an otherwise no-frills ‘fit, well suited for Katsuya’s minimalist decor. I just can’t understand how she could eat sushi without accidentally chomping on those inflated lips! Like many things going on inside that head of hers, it’s a mystery to me. Jessica recently revealed more about what goes on up there in an interview dishing on getting over ex Nick Lachey, whom she split with almost six years ago. To deal with the pain, Jess turned to writing to help her cope: "It (writing in a diary) is very, very therapeutic. There is a lot about heartbreak, there is a lot about perseverance. I used it as inspiration for my album. I used certain journal excerpts from certain journal entries. It has been an awesome experience for me." So… Jessica Simpson not only keeps a diary, she used it to write some of the songs on her new album? Try to wrap your mind around that one…

Don’t mess with Jessica Alba! Shopping with her daughter Honor Marie at the local grocery store on Nov 8 in New York, Jess looked like one tough mama in her black zippered motorcycle jacket (try Gold Hawk’s Ribbed Motorcycle Jacket in Black), grey skinnies (like Denim of Virtue’s Patience 5 Pocket Tapered Jean in Grey) and buckled black flat boots (get a similar look with Matiko’s folded flap C Boot in Black). Adding a fedora and fingerless gloves to shield her from the icy cold as she pushed her purse laden baby stroller away from the shop, Jess glared down any lingering paparazzi in her path as she made her way home (for similar purse picks that can double as a baby bag, try Linea Pelle’s Dylan Zip Tote in Citrine). Jess looked like she had a hard day on the set as she perused the night’s eats, stopping to coo over her baby girl as she picked out her produce. Jessica’s gams are looking pretty good these days, and she recently talked to People about her post-pregnancy lifestyle changes that helped her slim down: "I worked out -- not for hours, but I definitely had to work out. And I ate, not a lot of sweets and not a lot of cream. I kept a pretty simple organic diet, which I do now anyway." Seems simple enough for the rest of us to follow, no? Now that An Invisible Sign of My Own is almost finished filming, Jessica has already confirmed her next project, co-starring Casey Affleck. The two will work together in an on-screen adaptation of the book The Killer Inside Me, which was previously taken to the big screen in 1976. Wonder if Jess stayed true to her refusal to work unless Honor could be with her on-set, considering she’s lined up her next project so quickly? My guess is that in these tough economic times, even actors can’t be too picky with their work – what do you think?

In a blinding white satin suit, Natasha Bedingfield made a startling entrance on the red carpet on the 2008 American Music Awards on Nov 23 in Los Angeles. Making a stab at the female suit trend, I’m so jolted by the clown-like make-up, ill fitting suit, pale cleavage and red strappy heels that I’m not quite sure what to make of this. One thing is certain: it’s officially time to hire a stylist for red carpet appearances! If you like the professional vibe, try a more feminine approach like Laura Dahl’s Marshall Cropped Jacket in White with a tucked in tank and Shumaq’s Linen Pencil Skirt in White, and add a statement-making necklace like Rock Paper Scissors’ Peacock Necklace in Gold. Nat’s oversized, too short pendant necklace throws me off just as much as the rest of the ‘fit, but I’m wondering if she was trying to match the red lips and heels with the crimson frock she wore for her performance later in the night. It’s the only explanation I can think of! Natasha has been keeping herself busy with the “New Kids on the Block” tour, but while traveling on the bus Nat has made it a priority to visit as many schools as possible to inspire the kids to express themselves through music. Lucky kids in a few cities got to come on board the Lennon bus, fully equipped with a recording studio and writing space for Natasha. On a recent trip back to the UK, Nat raved to a British mag about her passion for penmanship: “Song writing is what I love doing the most out of anything I do and it’s very creative and I love just sitting in a room and just starting to jam. I just start humming and the songs just end up coming out!” If “Unwritten” was just the beginning, I can’t wait to see what this budding songstress has in store for us in the future!

She may be a mature 36 years old, but Cameron Diaz has such youthful skin she went make-up free to a studio meeting at Universal on Nov 19 in Los Angeles. Is it just me thinking she looks surprisingly fresh faced here? Clad in a few simple layers, Cam started with a white cami (try Ella Moss’ comfy Simone Cami in Vanilla) under a white Henley topped with a pale cropped cardigan (add a little color with Ecoganik’s Thermal Henley Top in Merlot under a cozy throw-on like Autumn Cashmere’s Draped Cardigan in Bisque), wearing the always popular black leggings (try Desert Blue’s denim styled The Phoenix Skinny Jean in Black) with slouchy grey boots. Walking back to her car carrying her favorite ivory Tod’s bag while sipping from her super-sized black thermos, Cam wore her hair swept back under a grey stretch headband with an ultra casual ponytail. Minus the boots I’d think she’d just come from the gym, not from a meeting with the head honchos! The simple bangle bracelet (add any interesting twist to any ‘fit with CC Skye’s Deco Soho Bracelet in White) adds a little style, but not enough to pull together this look. Nevertheless, it looks like Cam’s in good spirits, and I have a feeling it has to do with her continued romance with British model Paul Sculfor. From the outside it looks like they’re completely smitten with each other, unable to keep their hands off each other in public, but it seems Cam might not be quite over her ex Justin Timberlake just yet. Last week while attending CNN’s All-Star Tribute event, Cam was mysteriously absent on the red carpet – reportedly to avoid running into JT’s current fling, Jessica Biel! A source at the event leaked that Cam snuck in through the backstage door to avoid any awkward run-ins, and the actresses’ onstage schedules were timed carefully to prevent a face-to-face encounter. Ladies, can’t we all get along?

Always up for a good time, Kristen Bell spent her Saturday strolling through Disneyland in Anaheim, CA with her man Dax Shepard on Nov 29. Sharing a laugh and looking a bit goofy while fishing for something in her purse, Kristen enjoyed her time at “the happiest place on earth” with her beau in ultra comfy white Chuck Taylors and a casual autumn ‘fit. Starting with a pair of light blue straight leg jeans (try Pierce Jeans’ Santa Barbara Pierson Slim Jean in Pacific, KB wore a striped tee (add some color with Autumn Cashmere’s Striped Cable Henley in Taxi Cab) under a brown puff sleeve cardigan (lose the frumpy sleeves and get cozy in Smitten’s Long Sleeve Scarf Cardigan in Oatmeal) and red woven scarf, carrying a tan printed tote (a functional bag like the Dylan Zip Tote in Citrine by Linea Pelle would be perfect for park hopping) and letting her blonde tresses swing freely in the breeze. I don’t think the denim cut is very flattering with the choice of footwear, but compared to the usual jeans and oversized tees you see at Disneyland, you can’t beat Kristen’s semi-polished look. After spending the day smooching and checking out the rides, the couple shared a romantic meal at the infamous Blue Bayou eatery inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in the park. Have any of you ever had a chance to dine there? It’ll cost you some serious dough, but it’s worth it to pretend like you’re dining outdoors on a balmy New Orleans night… and the Pirates boats constantly passing by add some lively entertainment only Disney can provide!

The always fashionable Nicole Richie was spotted toting around her adorable daughter Harlow in West Hollywood last Friday, November 28, looking especially stylish and slender while doing so. If you are inspired by Nicole's outfit, start with a dark wash denim jacket, or if you're in the mood for something a little more fitting for the winter season, check out Amberlynne's luxe Victoria Coat in Plum, which has similar double-breasted button detailing, similar to the silhouette of Nicole's. From there, Nicole paired a black tee with a patterned scarf (like Alchemy's Paisley Scarf in Grey), oversized black shades (similar to Nour's Noushi Sunglasses in Crystal Mystery), and black leggings (check out Laura Dahl's Tiny Dancers Leggings in Noir). Finally, she finished her look off with a killer pair of black knee-high Louboutin boots (for a more wallet friendly version, check out Matiko Footwear's Sienna Boot in Black). Love it! In other Nicole motherhood news, it seems that Nicole and Christina Aguilera have formed a friendship over their new role as mothers, and Christina is speaking out about her high thoughts of Richie. She says, "I really appreciate people that exude a lot of talent and hard work. Because our little ones were born one day apart, I have had the opportunity of getting to know her. I was blown away by how great of a mom Nicole is. I really am. She is a great woman and I think that having a child has made her grow so much, as it made me grow as well. Anyone that wants to give anybody grief about going out is trying to be negative and trying to stir up some drama. But I have nothing but good things to say about Nicole. She doesn't go out so much." Who knew these two were so close! I think celebrity friendships are so interesting... I wonder if Paris is jealous?

The lovely Whitney Port was spotted grabbing lunch at West Hollywood eatery La Conversation with a few girlfriends on November 28, going for the modern-grunge look. If you like Whitney outfit, start with an oversized graphic tee (like Love Couture's Rose Garden Jersey Tee in Washed White- just make sure an order a size or two larger than normal) and light wash denim shorts (while Whitney wears vintage Levi's, check out Joe's Jeans' Braided 5 Pocket Short in Berkley). Next, Whitney added a jeweled headband and white sunglasses, and finished off her look with a studded bag (take a look at Linea Pelle Collection's Dylan Shoulder Messenger Bag in Black) and black leather motorcycle boots. What do you think of Whitney's look? Personally, I think she pulls it off, she has a way for dressing eclectic that seems to work for her. While (as I'm sure you are aware) Heidi and Spencer announced their marriage on the cover of this week's Us Weekly, Whitney is speaking out on her sentiments for the newly married couple. She says, "I just heard it like everyone else yesterday. Congratulations to them. I think it's great if that's what they're ready to do. Good for them." Yet another reason to love Whitney, she's always positive!

Victoria Beckham was spotted making her way through Heathrow Airport in London, England yesterday, November 30, surrounded by photographers and bodyguards. Looking lovely in a patterned coat dress (the quilted pattern of LaROK's Marlena Coat in Cream is similar to Victoria's) with complementary accessories, wine colored patent stilettos and what seems to be a vintage Hermes bag, Beckham finished her look off with her signature pair of oversized sunglasses (similar to Nour's Baba Sunglasses in Oro Bianco). She also slipped on a cute black headband to complement her shorter 'do. I must say, she always manages to look put together. While Victoria's hairstyle is definitely either love it or hate it, there are rumors spreading that Victoria loved the style when it was first cut, but now is regretting her decision to go so short. A source says, "She really regrets having the chop. At first she loved it, but now she realizes it was a big mistake. It's hard to style and manage. It's so short it's driving her mad." However, the source continues, saying, "David loves it, but she is convinced he would like it longer, as he first made a beeline for her when it was shoulder-length. She is growing it out and has considered extensions, but her hairdresser says it will grow quickly and is using a special shampoo to ensure it does." There's just no pleasing Mrs. Beckham!

Sienna Miller was spotted leaving The Groucho Club in London, England on November 27, where she allegedly was seen partying with beau Balthazar Getty. For an outfit similar to Sienna's, start with a warm sweater coat (like Gold Hawk's Long Chunky Cable Jacket in Black) over a patterned mini dress (check out 3J Workshop's Shelley Dress in As Shown), and pair with opaque tights and funky high boots. She accessorized with some sort of fuzzy scarf, a black fedora with a psychedelic scarf accent, and a vibrant red bag (similar to Carla Mancini's The Shopper Bag in Red). Now I know that Sienna is usually known for her style, but I have to say- I'm not feeling her outfit here. Looks like a mish-mosh, dressed in the dark! Just my two cents. While it seemed that Sienna was finished with her rendezvous with the married Balthazar Getty, the two might not be finished just yet. Earlier in the month, Sienna told the press that "I'm single at the moment, and I'm completely happy with that. It's nice not to have a relationship that the press constantly want to scrutinize and discuss. I'm cool with being on my own." However, a source who saw the couple at The Groucho Club said, "They looked very happy together, and were laughing and touching each other all night. It seemed like they were very much together and were engrossed in conversation for the entire evening." While they might have been engrossed in conversation at the club, they were probably engrossed in the bedroom later in the evening!

Spelling it out loud and clear that she’s still got it, Christina Aguilera took to the stage at the 2008 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Nov 23 and brought the house down with her 7 minute medley featuring her most memorable hits. Giving an impressively energetic performance complete with costume changes, special lighting and sound effects and plenty of high energy choreography, Mamaguilera’s gig brought the house down and rivaled performances from divas including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and the Pussycat Dolls. It’s hard to believe she’s already been doing this for a decade, and even harder to believe that a 28 year old mom can shake it so well! In contrast to the vintage lacy Elie Saab dress she arrived in, Christina took the stage in thigh high leather boots (try the interesting vertical seams on Matiko’s Sienna Boot in Black) and racy fishnets, beginning her act in a tailored black coat (nab the mysterious look with Ingwa Melero’s Velvet Coat with Frog Closure in Black) shielding her ensemble as she transitioned through hits from “Beautiful” to “Genie in a Bottle” to “Keeps Gettin’ Better,” ending the show in a top hat and sexy corset mini (make it wearable with Lotta Stensson’s Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Black or Shumaq’s Marrisa Dress in Black) with a sheer lace vest finishing off her ‘fit. Did any of you have a chance to catch the show? With her new album still in the works, it’s clear Mamaguilera is working hard to revamp her image, and I have to say there’s a noticeable difference in her demeanor. Speaking of her latest recordings, Christina told the press: “With this new album, I wanted to go in a completely opposite direction-a very futuristic, robotic sound and computer-sounding vocals. I’m experimenting with my voice in ways I’ve never done before, almost like a technical, computer-generated sound, which is different for me because I’m the type of vocalist that just belts. I’m always inspired by new things because I get bored.” I’m intrigued to see just what Mamaguilera has in store for us – do any of you agree?
