Bertie patent lace-up shoe boots

bertie black.jpgThere's something delightfully simple about these patent shoe boots from Bertie, but for me they're strangely evocative, too: they remind me a bit of the 'jazz shoes' I used to wear at school, brought up to date with a chunky heel and high-gloss finish. They'd look fantastic with a mid-length skirt and chunky tights, plus leg-warmers if you really want to turn the nostalgia factor up to 11. Also available in white, if you're after a really chic, sleep look. £73.41 at Asos

Dune's bright red 'Pebbles' flats

dune_pebbles.jpg

I don't know about you, but I'm anticipating some seriously sore feet over the coming weeks, so flats like these ones by Dune are starting to look increasingly attractive to me. Not that they wouldn't have looked attractive anyway, mind you: I reckon red flats are something everyone should own, and these ones come with a giant button on the top, just to seal the deal as it were. They'll be the perfect finishing touch to a casual outfit, but will also look cute with skirts and dresses when you're tired of high heels. They're £45.

Fornarina red suede court shoes

fornarina-red-suede.jpgThese shoes wouldn't be the kind of thing I'd normally go for, but having caught sight of them on the Shoewawa shoe finder, my curiosity was piqued, and I had to take a closer look. The shape of these gives them an almost cartoonish look at first glance, but I quite like that, and upon closer inspection, they're actually a really pretty pair of red suede shoes. The description at Yoox calls them "closed toe", but I'm sure that's a peep toe I can see there. Either way, they have a nice, slightly vintage look to them, and are pretty good value too, at £54.

Mary Jane Monday: Grey double-strap Mary Janes from Forever 21

f21-mary-janes.jpgI thought we'd go for a budget option for today's Mary Jane Monday column, just in case the Christmas shopping is forcing you to reign back on your shoe spending a little. These grey double-strap Mary Janes are from Forever 21, and while they're never going to be the best-made shoes in your collection, the fact that they're only $19.80, and in a style you're bound to get lots of wear out of before they finally fall apart, may just make up for that. They're also available in black, and you can buy a pair here.

Faith's snake platform slingback shoes

faith-snake-slings.jpgI know this is just a regular black slingback, but it has something of a designer feel to it, what with the Louboutin red sole and the YSL style peep too, and when you can buy that combination for £60, I'm interested. These are the kind of shoes that would be destined to become my "wear everywhere" shoes if I owned them, and I'm pretty sure I'd wear them until they feel apart. I'm liking the look of peep toes with opaques for winter, but they'll be equally good with bare legs when the warmer weather rolls around once more. They're £60 and available at ASOS.com.

Ted Baker 'Relax' slippers

tedbaker-relax.jpg I use to knock comfy home shoes when I was younger, but I grew to love them when thick winter socks just didn't keep my feet warm during the cold winter months. While I never jumped on the Ugg boot bandwagon, I definitely understand why people want their feet to be comfy cosy. These aptly named Ted Baker 'Relax' slippers are the perfect indoor slippers with their suede outer and man made fur lining. To top it all off, if you're feeling lazy, these shoes have also been fitted with a driver sole so if you have to make that dash from the front door to the car for some drive through/takeaway pick up.
