Designer Discovery: Lindsey Thornburg Cloaks

Linsey Thornburg Cloaks

In high school one of my best friends was a chick who used to wear a cloak everyday to school. The boys would call her cape girl and make fun behind her back, but no one dared to say anything to her face for fear of getting shot up the day she decided to snap and kill them all (post-Columbine high school in the suburbs, what did you expect). Personally I always loved her style which is why I’m all for the newest fashion status fixture, the Cloak.

For her new collection designer Lindsey Thornburg journeyed to Machu Picchu. While traveling through the countryside of Peru she was overwhelmed and inspired by the versatility of the Highlanders attire. These indigenous people layer bold colors and sarapes in such an eloquent way that the amount of hidden layers became almost transparent. Thus the development and creation of her new collection of cloaks. Formed out of Peruvian inspired textiles, these soft wool blended outer shells, lined in silk create both a beautiful and alluring silhouette.

Totally worth it, for that mysterious, killer look.
