Here is my pick of the ’stand-out’ bags of the season.

WHAT The Prada Cervo Lux Print
TALK ABOUT… needing no introduction. Hanging off arms of celebs like Catheine Deneuve and boosting a waiting list of three months, this ‘fairies’ bag is one of the most desired items right now. However, I am doubting that it will become very dated after a few months, that is the lifespan of most ‘instant-sensation’ it bags.

WHAT Fendi Appliques clutches
TALK ABOUT… getting kiddy with cute embellishments like rainbow, raindrops and clouds… So quirky it doesn’t even look like it costs a pocket-burning 4000€.

WHAT Chanel PVC clutch
TALK ABOUT… carrying a huge crystal with a big fat Chanel logo slapped on it. But then again, are you gonna put anything inside if you have this? It is too pretty to have any content.

WHAT Valentino couture handbags
TALK ABOUT… exquisite weavings that is worth being tagged as a couture handbag. At 14350€, the pink crocodile skin version is exactly ten times more expensive than the one in blue.

WHAT Jimmy Choo ‘face’ bag
TALK ABOUT… disappointing. This is so not Jimmy Choo. I can’t relate the word luxury to this because the faces look so retro in a trashy way, like one of those posters you see in an 80s’ hair salon.

WHAT Balenciaga floral bag
TALK ABOUT… going from edgy to girlie. The iconic motorcycle bags are given a makeover with the floral prints from the Spring/Summer 08′ collection. Definitely an attention grabber.

WHAT 3.1 Phillip Lim camera bag
TALK ABOUT… my dream designer school bag. Seemingly rugged but looks versatile and functional, perfect for dashing around to attend lectures and stuffing all my notes in!

WHAT Yves Saint Laurent YMail clutches
TALK ABOUT… the coolest coin purse I have ever seen. The mailing address is directed to YSL’s head office at France and it is engraved onto the surface complete with a ‘YSL PARIS’ delivery stamp. Can I have this? Le sigh…

WHAT Lanvin cartoon shopper bag
TALK ABOUT… matching that adorable tank with this bag. Again, the sketchings totally won me over! But still, it costs a whooping £415, not cheap for a branded bag that is not made of leather but it spells ‘environmental friendly’.

WHAT Marni sculpture bag
TALK ABOUT… so sleek and shiny it hurts if there is a scratch or dent on it (which means you have to protect it like it is your car). But it is so achingly on-trend with the wet look.

WHAT Ethical superstore recycle bag
TALK ABOUT… an Anya Hindmarch ‘I’m NOT a Plastic bag’ wannabe. It only costs £5 but if you are a fan of recycle bags, Ethical has a whole range of it from different sizes to colours.
